EMIS Web
EMIS Web is the new web-based version of EMIS that will allow community healthcare professionals to view and contribute to the patient’s EMR over the internet.
EMIS Web enables the sharing of EMR records between physicians and community healthcare staff. It ensures that all clinical records held about each patient are pulled together from all healthcare professionals involved in the patient’s care, and can be viewed both in summary format and in detail.
The provision of a common clinical record with rich functionality provides a system not just for physicians but also for community staff and allied health professionals. This ensures that each member of the care team can instantly see who is also providing care for their patients and what action has been taken.
Instead of a ‘one size fits all’ approach, EMIS Web will be designed specifically to meet the needs of each healthcare professional. A user will have a role assigned to their log in, so when a physician logs in he/she will be presented with functionality that has been specifically designed for physicians. Physician users will have access to consultation mode, medical records, prescribing, search & audits – all of the regular features and modules from EMIS.
Likewise allied health professionals will log on to a version of the system that is specifically tailored to their needs, for example a District Nurse will log on to view the team’s case load, medical records and specific templates and assessments.
The only thing that is shared is the clinical record.
