EMIS strikes gold with Microsoft

Edmonton, November 22, 2006

Microsoft Gold Partner logoEMIS has joined the select list of firms to achieve the prestigious Gold Certified Partner status from software giant Microsoft.

EMIS, which supplies computer systems to 56 per cent of UK doctors' practices as well as a number of high profile clinics in Alberta and BC including the University of Calgary's Department of Medicine, has achieved four competencies under the scheme.

These are:
  • advanced infrastructure solutions
  • networking infrastructure solutions
  • data management solutions
  • information worker solutions

EMIS achieved gold status after customers supplied references to Microsoft. EMIS was also assessed on the number of its staff who have attained Microsoft Certified Professional status.

Microsoft Gold Certified Partners have access to a variety of early product information from the company as well as exclusive resources.

Peter Anderson, President and CEO of EMIS Inc., said: "This is great news for EMIS and it demonstrates the rigorous and professional way in which our staff install physician office systems in physician clinics. It also shows how successfully we incorporate a range of Microsoft programmes into those systems - programmes that doctors and clinic staff rely on for the successful treatment of patients and the smooth running of their practice.

"I'd like to congratulate all EMIS staff on the hard work and dedication that it has taken to help the company achieve this coveted status, and for the high number of competencies achieved."
